June 2, 2011 - The trail is now open from Abingdon to Whitetop. A bike trail has been built to replace trestle #7. All is well along the Creeper. Visit soon and visit often.
April 28, 2011 - Damage to trestle #8 and the destruction of trestle #7 due to the storm has prompted the closure of the trail between Abingdon and Alvarado. Until trestle #7 can be replaced or an alternate path established please make arrangements to shuttle your riders from Alvarado Station or Whitetop Station. Signs will be posted today advising users that the trail is closed to all through traffic. It is also important that users do not go on the trail and use private property along the trail in place of the trestles. TRAIL OPEN JUNE 2, 2011!
There was no major damage to the Whitetop to Damascus section and the trail is open from Whitetop to Alvarado.
Updates on reopening of the Abingdon-Alvarado section of the trail will be sent as news is available. NOW OPEN!
